Analysis of the Main Structure of Hydraulic Cylinders

Hydraulic cylinders are the key actuating components in hydraulic systems. They convert hydraulic energy into mechanical energy to achieve linear reciprocating motion. They are mainly composed of the following parts:

1. Cylinder barrel: It serves as the foundation for accommodating and supporting other components. It is usually made of high-strength seamless steel tubes, with the inner walls processed for precision. This ensures good sealing and wear resistance. It not only has to withstand the pressure of the internal oil but also ensures the accuracy of the fit with the piston assembly.

2. Piston rod: It connects the working mechanism and transmits force. It is generally made of good carbon steel or alloy steel, with a chrome coating to enhance corrosion resistance and surface hardness. Depending on different application scenarios, it can be single-acting or double-acting design, meaning it only receives oil injection on one side to push the piston to move.

3. Guide sleeve: Located on the inner side of the cylinder cover, it guides the piston rod to slide smoothly along the axial direction and prevents abnormal wear due to eccentric loads. The material is mostly selected from self-lubricating materials such as bronze and polytetrafluoroethylene, which helps reduce friction resistance.

4. Sealing components: There are various forms of rubber sealing elements such as O-rings and Y-rings, distributed at key positions such as between the piston and the cylinder barrel, and between the piston rod and the guide sleeve, to prevent high-pressure oil leakage and prevent foreign substances from entering the system, ensuring the reliable operation of the entire device.

In addition, there are auxiliary facilities such as shock absorbers and exhaust valves, which together form a complete hydraulic cylinder.
