Prevention and control of hydraulic cylinder leakage

Hydraulic cylinder leakage is mainly caused by design, assembly and use of several factors, only by taking comprehensive prevention and control measures to reduce or avoid hydraulic cylinder leakage.

(1) Prevent pollutants from entering the hydraulic cylinder

Mine environment is harsh, the dust content in the air is high, pollutants will enter the hydraulic oil through the tank breathing hole.

a) The air filter of the oil tank shall be kept in good condition during the operation of the mining machinery hydraulic equipment, and the cylinder head of the hydraulic cylinder shall be equipped with a dust-proof sealing ring, which shall be kept in good condition.

b) When refueling the oil tank, the refueling container must be dedicated to keep the container clean to prevent the contamination or mixing of hydraulic oil. When adding new oil, be sure to filter it.

c) Before disassembling the hydraulic cylinder, clean the dirt around the hydraulic cylinder thoroughly, and pay attention to the cleaning of repair tools to prevent pollutants from being brought into it.

d) Cotton can not be used to wipe the hydraulic cylinder when cleaning.

e) The filter shall be checked regularly and replaced immediately when it is found blocked or damaged to ensure the cleanliness of the hydraulic system.

(2) Correctly install the sealing ring

When installing the seal ring, do not stretch it to a permanent deformation position, do not use angular tools, to prevent scratching the seal ring. The sealing ring can be properly lubricated for installation.

When assembling Y sealing ring, pay attention to the lip to the direction of pressure. Yx-shaped sealing ring is divided into two kinds: hole and shaft. When assembling, it is necessary to distinguish between hole and shaft. V-shaped sealing ring consists of supporting ring, sealing ring and pressure ring 3 parts, installation should also pay attention to the direction, that is, the opening of the sealing ring should face the pressure.

(3) Reasonable design and processing of sealing structure

The sealing structure design is related to the sealing effect and the life of the sealing ring. The sealing effect of the O-ring depends on the correctness of the size of the mounting slot.

The sealing ring installation groove is too deep, and the compression of the sealing ring is not enough to play the sealing role; The sealing ring installation groove is too shallow, will squeeze the O-ring seal between the joint surface, will not leak oil in a short time, a little longer will leak oil.

(4) Control oil temperature change

The rise of oil temperature reduces the viscosity of the oil, accelerates the aging of the sealing element, and causes serious leakage. In order to improve the heat dissipation effect of the tank, the heat dissipation area of the tank can be increased. When the natural cooling cannot be satisfied, the cooler needs to be added.

(5) Emergency repair

If there are longitudinal tensile marks in the cylinder, even if the replacement of new seals, it can not effectively reduce the leakage. When the inner surface of the cylinder is seriously worn and deep longitudinal tensile marks exist, the bonding method can be used to repair the hydraulic cylinder if it cannot be replaced in time.

To repair, clean the inner wall of the cylinder with acetone solution, dry it, and then apply a layer of adhesive (Loctite 602 glue or TG205 glue) to the torn area, and scrape the glue flat with a tool. After the adhesive is glued to the metal surface of the inner wall of the cylinder, a layer of adhesive is coated, which is about 2mm higher than the inner surface of the cylinder, and then the adhesive is scraped so that it is slightly higher than the inner surface of the cylinder. After curing, the surface is polished with fine sandpaper to make it the same as the original surface of the inner wall of the cylinder.

There are many reasons for hydraulic cylinder leakage. It is necessary to comprehensively analyze and take corresponding measures to reduce or avoid leakage and ensure the normal use of mine equipment.
